GOAL-SETTING MISTAKE 1
Sorry to break it to you but resolutions are NOT the same as goals!
DON’T make resolutions and mistake them for GOALS, they are both very different. How many of those resolutions do you even remember at the end of January? Yep, I thought so.
If you keep making the same/similar resolutions year after year then that right there is your biggest indication – BIG MISTAKE!
GOAL-SETTING MISTAKE 2
You are all about WORK related goals.
I get it, you are ambitious, you want to excel at work, you want to get that next promotion, you are eyeing the next big salary hike.
BUT, you are doing all that at the cost of neglecting the other 8-10 aspects of your life. Result? Feeling guilty, regret, and/or burnout, and it will sooner or later catch up to you!
GOAL-SETTING MISTAKE 3
Setting too MANY goals.
In your enthusiasm, you want to go from 0 to 100. While I love that zeal, setting too many goals only leads to disappointment because let’s be honest, no one can ever invest enough time/energy into a dozen different goals all at once.
Avoid overwhelm! Set a few RELEVANT goals, no more than 3-5, and get laser-focused and really go after them.
GOAL-SETTING MISTAKE 4
Not being SPECIFIC about your goals.Sure, ‘losing weight’ is on many people’s list, but is that because everyone else is ‘skinny’ or you were several years ago, or is it for your own health? What’s your WHY? Your truest desire? Motivation? Plan of Action? Timeline? etc, etc.
Mind you, losing weight & being fit are 2 completely different goals!
GOAL-SETTING MISTAKE 5
Setting goals in your comfort zone!
Yep, as counterintuitive as it sounds, not stretching and pushing past your comfort zone will not get you excited about your goal resulting in a lack of motivation, procrastination, and eventually not only do you not accomplish your goals but you also do not grow and remain stagnant.
So set big audacious goals that are both exciting and a little scary!
GOAL-SETTING MISTAKE 6
NOT investing in yourself!
Do you save up/have a budget for your travels, kids’ education, dream home, but have NO budget to invest in your own growth? Do you NOT see what’s WRONG with that equation?
Go enroll in that certification, get that life coach, evolve so hard that you’ll be shocked at how many goals you knock out of the park!

So don’t just dream it, but be it, do it, make it happen!
Set those SMART goals, create an action plan, track your progress, revisit and revise your goals, and CRUSH YOUR GOALS!
