Deepen that relationship – Of all the relationships you have in your life, the relationship you have with yourself is the most important, so nurture it, and strengthen it!
Deepening your relationship with others is certainly important. But do you know what is even more important?
Deepening the relationship that you have with yourself!
How often do you think of the person you spend the most time with (YOU) & think about strengthening that relationship?
Now, I have always had a good relationship with myself, but this past month I have had to further deepen that relationship on so many different levels…
And a huge part of that has been working on deepening my spiritual practices —
Whether it is working on letting s*** go (and here I thought that I had already done a great job at that in my life) or deepening my meditation, yoga, and Ayurvedic practices, or digging deeper to better understand my own ancestral, traditional, cultural, and ancient roots. Including the thing that doesn’t come easy to me, to surrender (‘the problem solver’ that I am), but I am proud (and amazed at the same time) as I say that I have grown by leaps and bounds in that regard.
If you have been a regular around here and have kept up with my deep inner work post then much of what I say below is piggybacking on that article. If you haven’t read that one yet, check it out here.
All this has had me slow down or take a step back in certain aspects while ramping up and go full-force ahead in others.
Plus, this digging deeper and deeper has further opened my eyes to unfathomable amounts of insights, new perspectives, emotions, mind-blowing opportunities, and a newfound appreciation for all that I cannot yet comprehend!
The funny thing is, the more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know. I am just beginning to scratch the surface… Yep, Albert Einstein didn’t say that not for nothing!
You know what else is interesting?
This season during Diwali, what we call Karthika Maasa (Oct 23rd – Nov 21st this year) is one of our holy, auspicious, spiritual months.
I didn’t plan on any of this (at least not in the way it has all unfolded) but one thing led to another and before I knew it here I am…
Still trying to process it all, but I couldn’t have been more grateful for every.single.minute of it…
All this to say, you are the only one you are in a relationship with life-long, and it is essential that your bond with yourself is both strong and deep!
If you need ideas on how to deepen the relationship with yourself, then check the post here, here, here, and here. The tips and pointers in those posts have all contributed to making my relationship with myself stronger and stronger over the years.
