Couples road trip travel essential – listening to insightful podcasts followed by intellectual conversations.
While many might beg to differ, this hands-down is our favorite thing to do as we are driving from one place to another, road trip or not! It helps us bond on a much deeper level and brings us closer and closer.
This past weekend, we planned an impromptu 3-day getaway & headed out for some much-needed rest, relaxation & human interaction #maskup #socialdistance, etc. And nope, it wasn’t to Iceland but to another favorite place(s).
Hiking in Mt.Rainier National Park (more on that coming soon, stay tuned) followed by a trip down to Portland to meet our friends and spend some quality time with them.
After being cooped by inside the house for 4+ months this was a welcome change, and much-needed too! P.S. We took all the necessary precautions before, after, and during this quick trip.
Europe Trip last summer: Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, Iceland
I’ve said this before, listening to our favorite podcasts (and discussing an episode in detail) while road-tripping is one of hubby’s & my favorite things to do!
It always helps us connect on a much deeper level and I am thankful that we share a common fondness and appreciation for quite a few podcasters (and of course, I’ll take all the credit for introducing them all to him. Have you checked out the 50+ best of the best podcasts list yet?)
During these 3 days, I realized just how much I had missed this aspect of our relationship (in the last 4.5 months). Sure, we do listen to podcasts at home, but it isn’t quite the same (if you know you know).
And yesterday while driving, we might have even come up with a new goal (and another ‘crazy’ idea, you know, that list is only getting longer and longer and longer by the month, not that I am complaining!) as @naveenjainceo shared several golden nuggets on @jayshetty ‘s On Purpose Podcast (and some life coaching from my end may or may not have been involved, once a life coach always a life coach ;)).
As an individual, as a woman of passion (‘obsession’), as an advocate for a healthy lifestyle (who also happens to love Ayurveda & practice Sun Salutation), as a parent, as an entrepreneur, as someone with crazy vision/dreams, as someone who comes from a similar background as him (oh! not to forget, as someone who also wakes up at 4 am), so much of what Naveen shared on Jay’s podcast hit home!
“Dream so big that people think you are absolutely crazy!”
“The ONLY thing that is NOT possible is the one that YOU believe is NOT possible. If you can imagine it, you can create it! So go out and dream so big, and dream of crazy ideas and DON’T look for anyone’s approval. Know that if you are getting everyone’s approval you are NOT thinking crazy enough.”
