My Delicious Morning Elixir Without Coffee
Can you even imagine your morning without coffee?
One crazy thing about me is that I never have and do not drink coffee!
The flavor is blehhh to me and I don’t particularly love the effects it has on my health and my clients’ health. Instead, I have my favorite morning elixir without coffee and reap the benefits of that good ol’ green tea!
Here’s another fantastic coffee-free morning latte recipe!

What’s the Hype With Matcha?
Matcha is all the hype but do you actually know what it is and what the health benefits are?
Green tea is known by all as an antioxidant powerhouse you can sip on. Matcha is that x1000 since it’s the concentrated form of green tea. 1 serving of matcha powder is equivalent to 10 servings of green tea!
One of the most powerful compounds in matcha green tea is the EGCG (epigallocatechingallate). I’m obsessed with EGCG and have studied it quite extensively. This antioxidant fights against cancer, scavengers for free radicals, supports brain health and is an all-around superfood.
It’s important when you are shopping for matcha that you find a high-quality source that is 3rd party tested for pesticides and heavy metals. Tea leaves are extremely delicate and are heavily sprayed during the growing season. In addition, they often contain high levels of heavy metals like arsenic and lead.
Homemade Coconut Milk for the Win
One of the ingredients in the recipe below is my homemade coconut milk.
I make my own so I don’t have to dodge the gums, soy, sugar, natural flavors, and synthetic vitamins and minerals.
Plus, it’s so dang simple to whip up in just a couple minutes. All you need is coconut flakes/shreds/cream and filtered water. I’ll throw a couple of variations below for you. You can make it your own by adding maple syrup, adaptogen powders, vanilla or cinnamon.
Coconut cream version
- 2 Tbsp coconut cream (no gums)
- 2 cups filtered water
- Blend it up and voila
Coconut shreds version
- 1 cup coconut shreds
- 4 cups filtered water
- Blend and strain with a nut milk back if you want it smoother
