If you are yet to read that post, then I highly recommend that you first hop over to that post right away. I mean, it isn’t for nothing that so many people are raving about the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program. Cuz the thing is, my friends, IT WORKS, IT REALLY DOES!
So in this post, I am addressing the most pressing question that often comes up. Read along to find out how the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program has personally helped me to become my best self!
Too bad that I do not have pictures of me showing the before and the after. That was my only mistake! I started to fit into clothes that I couldn’t fit into before. And I saw progress as I went through the program so that was enough for me to keep me going.
WHY DID YOU JOIN THE FASTER WAY TO FAT LOSS PROGRAM?
You might look at me and wonder why would you join the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program?
In fact, I have already been asked exactly that quite a few times when I tell people that I do the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program. Why do you even want to/need to lose weight? You are already so thin, so why would you join such a program?
I quite often hear that from so many – oh you are so thin, you should put on some weight, etc, etc. Not that I care about those comments, I simply ignore them but sharing hearing for some context.
I believe that one might not be what society thinks is the ideal weight (you could be under or overweight according to ‘their norms’) and yet be very healthy and fit. So weight is just a number. But only you know what makes you feel good (without obsessing about that number on the scale).
My story – I was about 112 lbs when I got pregnant and gained about 25-30 lbs during pregnancy. None of that ever bothered me. I was super active and would walk about 6 miles until the day I gave birth to my little angel.
After giving birth to my little one, though I dropped most of the pregnancy weight naturally, I also gained weight as a result of medication side effects I was taking then (I have never spoken about it until now, more on that in a different post).
Several months after our little one was born, I also went through the 28 Day Food Challenge program (read more about it here) and saw good results. I think I was about 116-117 lbs after I completed that program and stayed at that weight ever since. Seems like I also needed a refresher course from what I had learned back then haha.
And no matter what I did after that, nothing helped. I am not saying that 116 lbs is overweight. I know that my ideal weight is between 110 – 112 lbs (or so I thought because I weigh less than that now and feel my best).
So yes, I plateaued, and the scale wouldn’t budge. Not that I have ever obsessed over the scale. It’s just that those extra pounds were on my face and more importantly, my forever problem area, my tummy.
Plus, for us small chested women, our tummy looks way out of proportion, even with the smallest amount of excess fat. Again, not saying that it is wrong or body shaming here. If you are comfortable with it, more power to you, sistah!
But I am just not a fan of that excess fat in my body and always tend to wear clothes that either hides the flab or doesn’t accentuate the tummy area.
And as far as my body goes, the excess fat is an indication to me that I am either 1) not eating right 2) not working out as I should be 3) or worse, i.e. both 1 and 2.
Once you become pregnant and give birth to a little one, your problem areas only become that much more stubborn and just won’t easily budge. So it gets extremely hard to get rid of the excess fat in those problem areas.
In my body, that is where almost all my unhealthy habits reside.
When I say unhealthy habits I mean when I fall off the wagon and NOT follow the 80/20 rule (see below) and also not workout because life happened. And that is when I am not being ‘good’!
Mind you, we already eat quite healthy at home. Yes, I have the biggest sweet tooth and that’s my weakness but since I mostly cook at home I make meals with healthy alternatives as much as possible.
So I basically follow the 80/20 rule i.e eat healthy 80% of the time and eat what you want the other 20%.
And when I am being good, I workout regularly (the keyword is, when I am being ‘good’).
As a busy woman who has her own business and who is also a mom (mompreneur), my health and fitness is the first one to go down the list of priorities when life gets crazy busy. Which in my case happens way more than I would like to admit.
I eat at random times, and at times I even forget to eat.
And workouts? Whew, don’t even talk to me about them. With busy lifestyles and trying to balance a career, home, and being a mom, who’s got the time for it, right!?
I am 1000% certain that I am not alone here. You all are busy too and you all have varied responsibilities and priorities too, and as women, our health is the last thing we worry about.
But the thing is, we can’t pour from an empty cup!
We have to be our best selves, both physically and mentally to take care of our families and careers. So we have got to first take care of ourselves!
I know it all too well myself, and yet, I make the same mistakes. So I desperately needed something to help me figure out what I was doing wrong and why nothing I did was working anymore.
I needed something drastic that would actually work and give me results, by which I actually mean something I hadn’t ever tried before.
I needed help to take care of my body as a whole. I mean, I am fairly healthy and fairly fit, but I know that I still have a (really) long way to go if I have to be my healthiest and fittest self!
So I needed something to hold me accountable and keep me consistent with whatever I did.
Not being consistent has always been my weakness, sigh!
Plus, I had to get rid of that excess fat residing in my body in the form of those last few pounds.
I knew that it would only be possible if I got back into following a good workout regimen and also made other changes to my eating habits that I hadn’t tried before.
Because at this point I was stumped. I didn’t know what else to do without fully giving up eating dessert, cheese, and pizza?
BUT WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT SECRET WHICH COULD HELP ME?
So, this time around when (I yet again) heard about the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program I did not fully dismiss it (due to the myths I believed in) but instead, I dug deeper and did a little research.
My research about the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program had me intrigued and almost all of the myths I had about the program were busted. Read more about it here.
So yes, I was willing to give the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program a shot. I mean, what did I have to lose anyway?
Nothing else besides the $200.
And I saw the $200 as an investment in myself! If it works, it works, but if it didn’t then not much is lost. I could at least say that ‘the thing everyone is raving soooo much about, does NOT really work, at least not for me’ (but luckily, that didn’t happen).
So after my initial bit of research, I went ahead and signed up for the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program on my birthday, as a gift to myself! P.S. Yes, you should always buy yourself gifts, big or small (you deserve it!).
And oh, you know what else?
What I forgot to mention until now is that I had met and chatted with Amanda Tress (the creator of the FASTer Way to Fat Loss program) in-person at the IDEA Fit event. This was right before I had gotten pregnant.
Back then Amanda hadn’t yet launched the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program (or not that I knew of) but I had firsthand witnessed her passion for health and wellness. She was at the event with her husband and they make such a dynamic duo.
Knowing what I now know, I am so proud of Amanda for what she is doing and how she has been helping thousands of women and men through the FWTFL program!
I wasn’t aware that the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program was her baby until I did my research. That is how dismissive I can be of things when they don’t interest me. Much like how I had dismissed this podcast and another dynamic duo until I realized the value.
But learning that the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program was Amanda Tress’s creation helped me to quickly make the decision to give this program a try.
Now the rest is history!
HOW DID THE FASTER WAY TO FAT LOSS PROGRAM HELP ME?
In short, I saw great results with the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program! It helped me achieve my physical goals. I LOVED IT!
The FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program highly promotes Progress over perfection! I belong to the all or nothing category, so this lesson was huge for me!!
During the duration of the program, I understood why my body plateaued and why I wasn’t making any progress –
I learned about macros and understood that concept really well. I realized I would consume way more grams of certain macros while I did not eat enough of certain other macros. But eating a well-balanced wholesome meal is so so important!
Portion control was my other weak point too. Even if something is healthy if you overeat it then you are not doing yourself any good. My issue is that if I like something I stuff myself even though I am full (I eat almost twice as much as I should be eating) 😮
Having a dedicated coach and community helped a great deal in addressing my questions, keeping me accountable, and making sure that I stayed on track. Plus, cheering each other on to do better every day is really huge to keep going! I mean, nothing hypes you up more than the women (and men) who are in this together with similar goals!
So with that kind of motivation, I stuck to the fitness part of the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program. I was so disciplined and committed to working out throughout the program. I worked out consistently for 6 full weeks! I set a new record for myself there. Until then, the most workout I’d do without breaking the cycle would be about 3 weeks.
With the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program, I learned the ways of Intermittent Fasting and it has been a game-changer for me ever since!
My other issue was that I would eat dinner around 9 pm but that completely changed for me once I started the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program.
Now to talk about what you are really here for – I lost several inches from my problem areas, and lost about 6-8 lbs (my goal was only to lose about 4 lbs). I know this might not sound like much at all to some people but that was the goal for my body (for the above-mentioned reasons).
But several people who were with me in the program lost about 15-20 lbs.
I have been around 108 lbs since then. That was my weight when I first came to the US over a decade ago, right before starting grad school. That was my weight before getting married, or becoming pregnant, or having a baby. Again, just sharing that here for context!
The biggest win for me with the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program is that it taught me the basics of some of the things that I thought I knew but didn’t really know!
LIFE AFTER COMPLETING ROUND 1 OF THE FASTER WAY TO FAT LOSS PROGRAM?
The FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program most definitely gave me a new lifestyle!
I only completed one round of the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program and did not sign up for another round after, only because I find calculating every macro I put in my mouth and carb cycling a bit too much for my lifestyle (and beliefs).
But I know many people who just continue to sign up for The FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program round after round because it works for their lifestyle and that’s the only way they seem to be able to stick with it. They need accountability and support.
What is important to me is that the program equipped me with the tools I needed for much better eating and workout habits. Even though I haven’t signed up for the new round of the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program I still apply the knowledge that I have learned from it daily.
And I do not obsess over it (i.e. what I am eating, when I am eating, if I am working out or not, etc), especially when I am traveling or during the holidays or even weekends for that matter.
As far as my eating habits go, I just get right back into it once I am back or fall off the wagon. But I do need to be more disciplined when it comes to working out, that’s been a work in progress!
Who knows, I might sign up for The FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program again when I need that kick in the b***. But until then, it is PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION!
Hope that this post helps answer most of your questions. Again, if you are yet to check out what the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program is or need other details about it, then please please please read this post.
And if you still have other questions then feel free to shoot me a note. I would love to help! GOOD LUCK!
