BEST OF HOLIDAY SEASON & EVENTS IN SEATTLE
The holidays are officially in full swing and I am oh-soooo-excited about all the fun things to experience and see this time of the year!
If you live in the Seattle area or are visiting Seattle during the holidays then these 3 holiday events are not ones to miss!
Though I am guilty of missing one of these events consecutively for the last 3 years. Missed going to the event this year because our little one was sick every time we wanted to go and given our upcoming travel schedule around the holidays I don’t think we will be able to make it before we take off. But hopefully next year!
ENCHANT CHRISTMAS
MISCHIEVOUS – THE WORLD’S LARGEST CHRISTMAS LIGHT MAZE & MARKET! Sponsored* Experience the magic of millions of lights @enchantsea, enjoy the holiday festivities and show off to your family & friends the best of this season at Enchant Christmas, only until Dec 29th and tickets are selling fast so hurry, HURRY!! Catch more on my Instagram Story Highlights ‘Enchant Christmas’
ENCHANT CHRISTMAS came to Seattle for the very first time last year (read more here) and it is back this year too, only this time even bigger and better! And I couldn’t be more thrilled about it. I mean, it’s a magical winter wonderland, to say the least, #holidayvibes and #joyfulcheer elevated all at once…
Unwrap new traditions and make magical memories (big and small) as you wind your way through Eddie the Elf, a mischievous little sprite’s maze where you find 8 hidden gifts. And find yourself lost amidst the luminescent beautiful arches, larger-than-life sculptures, and decadent delights.
TO-DO: ✅Find all 8 toys. ✅Take 5196712 photos. ✅Explore the Christmas Market while enjoying some seasonal foods & drinks. ✅Catch live music. ✅Glide on a river of silvery ice aka ice-skate. ✅Pose for photos with Santa (while you are at it also make your Christmas wishes known to him) ✅Make memories to last a lifetime!
TIPS:⠀ 💫Everywhere in the maze is a great photo op! 💫Plan to arrive as soon as they open so you can avoid the crowd. Weekday nights are much better than weekend nights, less crowded, duh! 💫Also, look up their special events schedule. 💫There is paid on-site parking available so that is not a worry. 💫VIP tickets enjoy even more perks. 💫Get a festive holiday light bulb drink (vodka + cranberry juice, or even just water will do). There is a bar and some food in the maze as well. 💫Don’t forget to try all the delicious sweet treats at the market (our fave @trophycupcakes and @thesweetsideseattle have stalls too, holy yum!) 💫Enchant also happens in other cities in the US, so check to see if they are near you.
LEAVENWORTH VILLAGE OF LIGHTS
One of our favorite things to do every year since we moved to Seattle a few years back – visit the Bavarian Village in Leavenworth, Washington during the holidays to watch the Christmas lights and sip on some spiced cider as we walk in and out of the boutique stores to keep ourselves from freezing!
The best part is that the lights are on in Leavenworth every night from Thanksgiving through Valentine’s weekend! They have several events throughout this period so be sure to check out their events calendar before you make a trip. Given our schedule, this will be the first year I plan to go to Leavenworth after New Year’s.
‘Like an enchanted village inside a swirling snow globe, the Bavarian village of Leavenworth, Washington, is truly an unforgettable winter experience. Nestled in the cusp of the Cascade Mountains, Leavenworth is the ultimate outdoor playground. Every winter the “Village of Lights” comes alive during the Holidays for a unique winter experience and the opportunity to create a lifetime of memories.’
TIP: You can plan a day trip from Seattle but be prepared to drive back when it is pitch dark out there. Or you can spend a night or two exploring and experiencing all that Leavenworth has to offer and make a weekend out of it!
SNOWFLAKE LANE
This is the event we have consecutively missed and I am so so bummed about it because all the things I read and the pictures I see of Snowflake Lane looks so dazzling!
The complimentary nightly parade happens on the sidewalks between Bellevue Square and Lincoln Square from NE 4th to NE 8th Street every night at 7 pm, from November 29th – December 24th, 2019.
‘Featuring a nightly parade with a cast of 300 performers including Toy Drummers, Jingle Belle Dancers, Stilt Walkers, Snow Flurries Color Guard, and 16 lighted floats. Experience the wonder of falling snow, dazzling lights, festive characters along with all your favorite holiday characters at the region’s most festive holiday scene!
TIP: Park in any of the free parking garages in the mall and choose your favorite spot on the sidewalk to see the parade!
