If you have been religiously reading all my blog posts in the recent weeks, then you know that thereās been a theme to it, holiday music and/or holiday movies playing non-stop in the background as I chip away at work, well, can you blame me?
It really is the most wonderful time of the year!
Thereās something about December that makes my heart happy,
despite the falling temperatures,
despite the holiday crowds,
and despite the pressure to end the year with a bangā¦
Holiday lights and decorations, tasting all the seasonal drinks at Starbucks, baking all the yummy goodness, gift shopping for all your loved ones, and most of all cozying up in cute pajamas and snuggling under layers on the couch with a hot cup of cocoa (cacao for me) or vino in hand (totally depends on the day) and binge watching Christmas movies…. Oh it’s the most wonderful time of the year and itās what the holidays are made of, right!!!
Speaking of Christmas movies, I could watch them all year long (and I do, every so often during the year), but there is something even more special about watching them when the sun goes down at 4pm in the evenings and the holiday lights come upā¦
Below are some of the movies I watched in the last few weeks (and thoroughly enjoyed) and highly recommend that you do too, or in some cases, forget that they even exist (you decide!).
ON NETFLIX
P.S: I am next on a mission to watch all the Christmas movies on Prime Video (of course, watch everything else on my Netflix ālistā), so stay tuned as I update this post real soon with my āPrimeā recommendations, see what I did there! š
LOVE ACTUALLY – all.time.favorite! We watch it a few dozen times every year, and I fall for the characters every.single.time!
THE HOLIDAY – another all.time.fave! Same, we watch it a few dozen times every year, and I again fall for the characters every.single.time (especially the storyline between Kate and the old man).
HOME ALONE SERIES – the movie that I grew up watching and loved!
THE PRINCESS SWITCH – watched it as soon as it was out on Netflix and loved it. Itās your classic, predictable storyline but doesnāt fail to win your heart over! Morale: You arenāt born with it but itās what you make of it (if you know what I mean)!
DEAR SANTA – canāt believe I hadnāt watched this movie in all these years š® Predictable, cheesy, and clichĆ©d, and that formula isnāt the easiest to get right, but this movie does it, and does it beautifully. LOVE Crystal! So so adorable!!
A CHRISTMAS PRINCE – super cute movie, I especially love that little girlās character and her confidence against all odds (we all have a whole lot to learn from her).
A CHRISTMAS PRINCE, THE ROYAL WEDDING – sequel is as cute as the first movie. I especially loved the rebellious side of the queen-to-beās character and how she questions the norms of being a royal (I mean, we are in the 21st century after all).
CHRISTMAS CHRONICLES – I SOOO wish that this movie was a reality, I mean, what if Santa was indeed real!? A must-watch indeed š
THE HOLIDAY CALENDAR – honestly, I started to watch this movie exclusively cuz Bonnie (a character from The Vampire Diaries) is in it. Again, a cute movie, and donāt we all wish that someone gave us that kind of an antique Advent calendar.
WHITE CHRISTMAS – itās the only old English movie that I have ever watched, and I watched it this year for the very first time, and boy am I glad that I did or what! Its fun, lively, and I could never get enough of all the signing, dancing, and the witty dialogues. Every character lights up the screen. And this is unlike any other Christmas movie that I have ever watched!
HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS – 3 words, adorable, funny, and absolutely heart touching!
CHRISTMAS INHERITENCE – again, your classic rich city girl comes to a small town to learn lifeās valuable lessons and then completely turns her life around for the good.
HOW SARAH GOT HER WINGS – such a beautiful story, and honestly, I didnāt predict the movie to end the way it did, a pleasant surprise. Wonāt say much else and ruin the surprise for you all.
Christmas movies I watched but didnāt like one bitā¦
After all, what am I here for?
I gotta save you from wasting your precious time during the holidays, amirite!?
MERRY KISSMAS – seriously, what were they thinking? Such a waste of time!
CHRISTMAS WEDDING PLANNER – this one felt like a drag and too boring.
HOLIDAY BREAKUP – it is watchable but totally not my kinda movie, so a meh from me!
CHRISTMAS WITH A VIEW – not your typical holiday movie but just the setting of it made me watch it and then also go blah about it! :-/
Now, go get your hot cocoa and popcorn and binge away, after all its the weekend!
And as you go, tell me what your 3 favorite Christmas movies to watch are?
After all, we need to keep that playlist/watch list going so help a girl out, and thank you! š
āIf you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around.ā
