In case you are yet to catch up on Part 1 of this series, here it is. And for the rest, thank you for coming back to read the rest of my firsts in 2015.
7. This one we really got a kick out of, my hubby and I were both unemployed for a month (between me quitting my job, relocating, and hubby starting at his new gig after graduation), and yet, we were happily vacationing in Alaska, without a care in the world. Hey, just thankful for a life of such excitement and adventure, I ain’t gonna complain 😉
8. We were nomads for almost a month – no home, no car, no responsibilities, just a bunch of suitcases at a friend’s in Seattle, and an RV in Alaska!
9. My parents, in-laws and my brother visited us in Seattle and the entire family went on a 2000 miles road trip – there’s always one of us missing, but not this time. We had the time of our lives in Montana. Touchwood, for I am fortunate enough to have such loving parents and in-laws that get along perfectly well with each other and love spending time together!
10. When the entire family is home, and it’s the season of Indian festivals it can only mean one thing, eat, sleep, repeat. We were lucky to all celebrate 3 festivals under the same roof, for the very first time. And boy, was I pampered or what – between my mom and mother-in-law, they must have made sure I put on some 10 lbs at the very least in the little time they were here, no kidding 😉
11. I have always been a sucker for DIY projects, and moving into a new apartment meant a chance to decorate the house from scratch, wohooo! I jumped at the opportunity and finally got my hands dirty in BIG DIY projects, there’s so much joy in spending hours to create something you love. I am still a long way from executing all the DIY projects I have in mind and call it a day but hubby thinks we are all done and the house is fully set up, duh, did you just meet your wife! 😮
12. I became an entrepreneur, yep! I launched my online boutique for fashion jewelry through Chloe and Isabel. For being such an addict of all things fashion, something of this sort was supposed to happen someday, no? With it, I added marketing and sales feathers to my cap. Its not easy as pie, but the possibilities are endless, and there are no limits to what I learn from it day in and day out. Through my business, I have taken the initiative to give back to the community – I donate a part of the proceeds to charity!

Don’t you just love it, “Be Creative, Be Confident, Be You”!
13. And talk about being a fashion addict, I went without any personal shopping for 3 straight months. Believe you me, for a shopaholic it is the hardest thing to do, but I did it (yes, it does feel like an achievement), and its all been down hill ever since (tsk tsk).
14. We did not travel outside the US the entire year, first time since our wedding, all thanks to never ending visa requirements (argh!). Not too happy about it I tell ya, but we more than made up for it and checked out plenty of things from our bucket list in the US {here’s one}.
15. And for the final one, any guesses? You are currently reading it, launch of my lifestyle blog on Christmas Eve, YAY!!! Since then I have had such an overwhelming response and encouragement from you readers that I am truly touched – thank you so very much!!
Now you see why I said in Part 1 that “When you truly desire something, the entire universe conspires to make it happen”.
2015 – A Year of Firsts!
As I wrap up My 15 Firsts in 2015, I wonder what my theme for 2016 should be – it sure has to give 2015 a run for its money, no?
What’s YOUR theme for 2016?
When was the last time you did something for the first time?
xoxo,
Kusum
